Committees

Runnin’ for Rhett has a number of committees made up of volunteers that want to help and make a difference.  Our organization depends on these committees for fundraising, empowering children with fitness knowledge, spreading Rhett’s story, and helping people like you Move into Life.  Are you interested in volunteering for one of these committees? Apparel

The Apparel Committee is responsible for the ordering and distribution of all of our Runnin’ for Rhett apparel which includes items such as our training tech shirts, sweatshirts and hats, as well as our Stay Fit swag items. The committee also helps with the ordering of the Youth Fitness race t-shirts in the spring and the fall. Events

The Events Committee is in charge of all of R4R’s events throughout the year. This includes our fundraisers, our races, and our member get-togethers. The events committee makes sure things are well organized and are always promoting the R4R message.  The committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month and asks for a one-year commitment.  Contact Chair Allie Schembra – Allie@runninforrhett.org – with any inquiries.

  • Capitol Beer Fest
  • Run Because You Can
    • The Run Because You Can Committee is responsible for the organization of the Run Because You Can, Runnin’ for Rhett’s own race that celebrates our mottos “Run Because You Can” and “Move Into Life.” With the inclusion of our Fall Youth Fitness Program (link?) participants, the race has grown to over 3,000 runners.   • Winterfest
    • The Winterfest Committee is responsible for the organization of Winterfest, a beer and wine social where brewers, vintners, and restaurants from the Sacramento area come together for an evening of delicious drinks and food, music, and socializing. Marketing / Communications

The Marketing / Communications Committee is responsible for Runnin’ for Rhett’s overall message and public relations. The committee also works closely with all other committees on graphic design and media relations.  The commitee meets on the second Wednesday of the month and asks for a one-year commitment.  Contact Chair Randy Seevers – Randy@RunninforRhett.org – with any inquiries.

Resource Development

The Resource Development Committee is responsible for bringing in grants and sponsorships to the organization. The committee is actively seeking new members that enjoy writing with a goal of raising funds for R4R. Duties would include actively searching for grant opportunities and/or completing and submitting applications throughout the year. The committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month and asks for a one-year commitment.  Contact Chair Carrie Spencer – Carrie@runninforrhett.org – with any inquiries.

Technology

The Technology Committee is responsible for maintaining all of Runnin’ for Rhett’s internal and external technology operations, including the official website, affiliated websites, and our internal SharePoint server. Contact Chair Eric Perryman – Eric@runninforrhett.org – with any inquiries.

Volunteer

The Volunteer Committee is responsible for recruiting and communicating with all volunteers for any Runnin’ for Rhett produced event or event that benefits R4R. Youth Fitness Program

The Youth Fitness Program Committee is responsible for the organization and the implementation of Runnin’ for Rhett’s Youth Fitness Program, where every spring and fall, over 30 schools (2,000+ students) learn better running and nutrition habits over five-weeks, all culminating in a 5K race. Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is responsible for guiding each of Runnin’ for Rhett’s committees towards efforts and decisions that uphold our vision and mission.  Board members make decisions that ensure all activities of Runnin’ for Rhett are executed responsibly, so that we can continue to grow and share Rhett’s story.  Contact Chairman of the Board Bob Daly – Bob@runninforrhett.org – with any inquires.
